BIOGRAPHY

Diminished Fifth Records is more then a just company that releases and promotes music; the entity was formed around an idea that goes well beyond the duty of a mere record label. Diminished Fifth Records is a lone voice that can be heard screaming loudly from Canada’s sheltered east coast! Passionate and filled with purpose, the label is on a mission to expose the seedy underbelly of Canada’s East Coast, a region which is all too easily recognized for traditional Celtic Music and Indie Rock.

The label has proven its ongoing commitment to the scene time and time again, releasing seven albums in less than three years and securing distribution for their releases in Canada, the USA, and the United Kingdom. The label has also been very vocal in its support to get the louder side of east coast music recognized and throughout 2007-2008 the label spearheaded a campaign to have metal music recognized by the East Coast Music Association and to create a new category ‘Loud Recording of the Year’ which was finally opened up at the 2009 ECMA’s. The label’s newest initiative is a publicity company, Hogan Media Relations which promises ‘Creative Media Solutions & Publicity’ for their all their clients in a variety of genres.
